Dwan S. Mabry, M.D., FACOG, is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist serving Tangipahoa and surrounding parishes for the past 10 years. Dr. Mabry received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 1990. She completed her medical training at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1994. Dr. Mabry then completed her residency at University Hospital and the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans with the LSU School of Medicine in 1998, and received her Board Certification in 2000. Dr. Mabry served as Department head for the Blood and Procedures Committee, a member of Louisiana State Medical Society and Chairperson of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department for the North Oaks Medical System in Hammond, LA. Dr. Mabry traveled with "Save Africa's Children" Outreach Ministries to Lusaka, Zambia in 2005, and assisted existing organizations working with HIV positive children and families throughout Zambia. This life-changing experience inspired Dr. Mabry to volunteer her time to improve the quality of life of children across the globe. Dr. Mabry has served as a member of Covington Citizen's Review Panel; a division of Social Services, board member of the Louisiana Maternal / United Coalition, board member of Southeast Spousal Abuse, chairperson for World AIDS Day Awareness on SLU Campus and motivational speaker for several local civic organizations. Dr. Mabry is a licensed minister and Director of the Health and Healing Ministry at Beacon Light Baptist Church of Hammond, LA, a member of the Baton Rouge Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. and a member of the Hammond Area Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Dr. Mabry was recognized as one of "America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists" in the 2008 Consumer Research Council of America. Away from her medical practice, Dr. Mabry plays the piano, travels and enjoys family time with her husband and two sons. |

Dr Ashford is a 2010 graduate of the LSU School of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. Dr Ashford was recognized for his selection of Chief Resident for the year 2009-2010. He was also recognized as having the best obstetrics and gynecology research project; “Advancing Minimally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide,” and as a result Dr Ashford has been selected for special resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr Ashford received a 2010 membership by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist. Dr Ashford graduated from Xavier University of New Orleans in Biology/Pre Medicine in 2002 and LSU School of Medicine, New Orleans Louisiana in 2006. |

Dr. Sandifer is the newest physician to join the group. A native of Ponchatoula, Dr. Sandifer received her under graduate degree in biomedical engineering at Tulane University. In 2008 she graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Sandifer is completing her residency training as part of the first graduating class of the LSU Obstetrics and Gynecology program in Baton Rouge at Earl K. Long Medical Center and Women's Hospital. She currently serves as administrative chief resident and following the completion of her training. Dr. Sandifer will be returning home to begin her career in southeast Louisiana. "I am looking forward to coming home" said Dr. Sandifer. "North Oaks Ob/GYN gives me the opportunity to practice with a great team of doctors and midwives and to provide quality health to my local friends and family." Outside of work, Dr. Sandifer enjoys spending time with her family which includes chasing after two small children alongside her husband Matt. She also enjoys gardening and playing the piano in her spare time. |
